Last week, Curtis Granderson started waving a towel as a celebration of a Mets hit, after which teammates have since joined in. >> WATCH HERE

In Miami on Sunday, with the Mets collecting 17 hits, the celebration was on full display, with the bullpen also joining.

“We started thinking about it and it popped right from my memory of the Bulls and their three-peat championship, Cliff Levingston or Stacey King out there waving a towel all the time, it just popped in my head and we’ll do that when we get a hit,” Granderson told reporters after Sunday's 11-run win against the Marlins (Daily News, June 23). “Now we’ve seen the guys in the bullpen doing it and some of the fans in the stands are doing it. Hopefully, just something to keep us going.”
