- Josh Satin fell over trying to backhand a ball in the sixth inning. It was ruled an infield hit.
- Juan Lagares made a nice leaping catch in the 10th inning, but also pulled up short on a play in the sixth. His failing was offensive; he took a called third strike - on a 92 mph fastball - with one out and a runner, Matt den Dekker, at third, representing the tying run in the seventh inning. Lagares must be thinking about putting the ball in play in that situation. Instead he took a hittable pitch. Den Dekker later scored on a wild pitch.
- Wilfredo Tovar kicked a ball at shortstop in the ninth inning for an E6.
- Cesar Puello pulled up on a catchable ball in foul territory on the warning track in right field in the ninth inning and was charged with an error.
- Reese Havens turned in a home to first time of 4.82 seconds on a groundout in the 10th inning. Either he was not hustling (possible) or he's a 20 runner (possible) or both (possible).
- Wilmer Flores, who shifted from second to third when Havens entered the game in the seventh, did not get close to a foul popup outside the thirdbase line. I think a faster, more experience third baseman makes the catch, or at least would give himself a chance on the play.
- Josh Edgin's velocity was 89-91 and touched 92. It's still early, but Edgin averaged 94 mph with his four-seamer last year and 93 on his sinker.
- Denard Span created a run with his legs in the second inning. Brandon Lyon walked him leading off the inning, and then Span stole both second and third - both times running on pitches in the dirt - before scoring on an infield groundout.
