Tim Tebow will make his first appearance in Major League spring training games on Wednesday and Friday, Sandy Alderson told the New York Post.
Tebow is slated to play in split squad games at home on both days. Tebow will be the designated hitter when the Mets host the Red Sox on Wednesday. They play the Astros on Friday.
The Mets will be losing 14 players during the World Baseball Classic and the team plans to utilize players from the Minor League spring training camp during the WBC.
Tebow signed a $100,000 contract with the Mets last year. He hit .194 with no home runs and 20 strikeouts in 19 games in the Arizona Fall League in October.
