Now Commenting On:

Today at Tradition Field, the Mets host the Cardinals at 12:10 PM.

David Wright will make his return Grapefruit League action today. He had been sidelined by a strained intercostal muscle he sustained at the World Baseball Classic.

Matt Harvey will start for the Mets, and Jake Westbrook will start for the Cardinals.

After today's game, the Mets will break camp and leave Port St. Lucie for Sarasota, where they will play their final Grapefruit League game against the Orioles tomorrow afternoon.

As was the case with Daniel Murphy yesterday, it's clear Wright is ready for Opening Day. This is all very good news, considering where things stood last weekend with these two players. I had thought they'd keep Wright out of Major League games, just in case he suffered a setback and required a stint on the disabled list. Wright looks and seems fine, though - he hasn't shown any problems with quick movements during groundball drills, nor has he held back at the plate or in the batting cage.
