Syndergaard Notes: Syndergaard has posted a 6.19 ERA in his last three outings. He has yet to earn a win while pitching on the road this season going 0-5 with a 5.05 ERA in nine starts away from Citi Field. On May 27 he pitched 7 1/3 shutout innings and struck out six against the Phillies in a 7-0 Mets win.
Williams Notes: Williams is coming off of the worst start of his career. In his last outing he allowed eight runs in only 1 2/3 innings pitched against the Marlins. Williams had posted a 1.50 ERA in his first three August starts. This will be his third time facing the Mets this season. He is 0-1 with a 5.73 ERA in his first two starts.
Mets Notes: The Mets set a franchise record last night with 15 extra base hits and 8 home runs in their 16-7 win over the Phillies. Last night was the first time in Major League history that batters 1-7 in a lineup each hit a home run in a single game. In their last four games they have scored 49 runs. David Wright hit a home run in his first at-bat after missing 112 games last night. His 20 career home runs in Citizens Bank Park are the most by any visiting player. Wilmer Flores has three home runs and 14 RBI in 12 career games in Philadelphia.
Phillies Notes: The Phillies have dropped six straight games to the Mets and 9 of 10 this season. They've been outscored 59-29 in those 10 games. Freddy Galvis had three hits in last nights game. Ryan Howard, Domonic Brown and Cameron Rupp each hit home runs last night for the Phillies.
