Now Commenting On:

In the 11 games since being demoted to Triple-A, Travis d'Arnaud is hitting .432 with six HR and 15 RBI.

He was hitting .180 with three HR and nine RBI in 39 games with the Mets.

"It was all mental,” d’Arnaud said of his struggles in New York (Las Vegas Review-Journal, June 18).

He said, in Vegas, he's approaching every at bat like it's his last, while not thinking about "a hundred different things."

"I kind of went away from that (in the majors)," he concluded.

D’Arnaud may be back with the Mets by the middle of next week, when the team faces the A’s at Citi Field, an organization source said (ESPN, June 19).

If d’Arnaud is promoted after June 27 (20 days after he was demoted) he will be out of minor league options, i.e., able to be sent to the minors without having to first pass through waivers. If he’s promoted before June 27, he will retain the option, meaning he can be sent down again.
