Now Commenting On:

AAA: Lehigh Valley 6, @ Buffalo Bisons 1

Tobi Stoner (5-10, 6.07) gave up four runs on 10 hits and four walks in 5.1 innings without striking out a single batter.  I pointed this out in relation to Dillon Gee on twitter yesterday, but the average ERA in the IL is 4.17.  That makes Stoner almost two full runs of ERA worse than AAA average.  Stoner has allowed 18 homers in 110.1 innings, or 1.5/9 IP.  Yikes.

Not a good night for the kids: Lucas Duda (.308/.366/.660) was 1-4 with a double, but struck out twice, while Ruben Tejada and Nick Evans were both 0-4. Fernando Martinez sat.

31-year old Valentino Pascucci, and Jorge Padilla, who will be 31 next week, were both 3-4 with doubles.

AA: Harrisburg Senators 8, @ Binghamton Mets 6The B-Mets had a 5-2 lead in this one, but Mark Cohoon and Dylan Owen, who didn't retire a batter, couldn't hold it in the sixth.  Cohoon gave up four runs, two earned on seven hits and a walk in 5.2 innings.  He threw a wild pitch, balked, fanned three and picked up 10 groundball outs.  This counts as one of Cohoon's best two AA outings in eight tries.

The B-Mets went five-deep in the bullpen, calling on Eric Niesen (.1 IP, 1 K), Carlos Muniz (.1 IP, 2 R, 2 BB, 1 K), Eddie Kunz (1.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 K) and Roy Merritt (1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K).

The B-Mets had a lead thanks to RBI doubles from CF Kirk Nieuwenhuis and 3B Zach Lutz.  Nieuwenhuis (.292/.340/.515) was 2-5 with a pair of doubles, his 34th and 35th this year.  Lutz has hit safely in five of his six games since returning, with three doubles and five homers.
