Josh Satin made his AAA debut hitting sixth in the Bisons lineup and going 1-4, 2k's and grounded into a double play. Satin started at third-base.
Chris Schwinden was not very good on the loss: 4 1/3 IP, 7 hits, 4 er, 4 bb, 7 k, 2 HR.
Bisons manager Tim Tuefel sums up Schwinden's outing (via Buffalo News):
Schwinden came out and gave us his best effort but he missed too many pitches in the zone early on. A two-run homer and a double kind of cost him tonight but I would think he would like to hit his locations a little bit better.
Not much happened for Binghamton last night.
What did happen is another Matt Den Dekker homerun. Den Dekker homered for the third straight game, raising his season total to 12 in 99 games between St. Lucie and Binghamton.
Den Dekker has hit six homeruns in 22 July games. During said month he is slugging .576.
Overall on the season, Den Dekker's triple slash line is a very solid .278/.348/.487.
The good for Den Dekker: (season totals) 26 2B, 10 3B, 12 HR, 16 SB.
The bad: 36 BB, 106 K, 7 CS.
Overall Den Dekker has fared quite well at the plate, showing more power than anyone expected. His defense, as we all know, is well above average. While Den Dekker's strikeout rates are a bit concerning, the progress he has made with his bat this year is making him look more and more like an eventual big leaguer.
