Now Commenting On:

Last night, with one out, Dodgers 1B Mark Loretta ripped a ground ball down the first-base line, which hit the base and popped high in the sky.  Daniel Murphy reacted quickly, scurried towards second base, picked up the ball with his right hand and flipped it behind his back to Bobby Parnell covering first base for the out.

snazzy play… credit for parnell, too… again, murphy reacts well, he has strong baseball instincts, and seems to struggle most on plays when he has time to think… that said, it looked like loretta was safe on the re-play

By the way, Murphy had two doubles last night.

he hit the ball hard in all four at bats, and seems to be turning on the inside fastball again, like he was when he was hitting well earlier in the year
