After the Mets won on a walk-off hit on Saturday night, Mets 3B David Wright returned to the field and thanked the fans for their support over the years.

"I was thinking about what to say today and I think I'm all out of tears, so I think we're good to go with that," he said. "But this is love. I can't say anything else. This is love."

Wright thanked the fans for welcoming him "with open arms" when he was first called up to the major leagues as a 21-year-old.

"You've seen a lot of strikeouts and a lot of errors, but you've had my back since day one, and for that I can't say 'thank you' enough," Wright explained.

The crowd, still roaring even after 13 innings, stayed until the very end to cheer on the Mets' captain one last time -- and it meant a lot to him.

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for accepting me, thank you for cheering for me, and thank you for allowing me to live out my dreams in front of you guys each and every single night," he said.
