During another media session at the GM Meetings in Carlsbad, CA, Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen touched on many of his current players, including 3B David Wright.
Wright still holds a spot on the 40-man roster, but his role with the team next season is still up in the air. Van Wagenen said he has been talking with Wright "regularly," and hopes they can discuss what that new role might be down the road.

"David Wright is an important part of this organization," he said. "I've been in touch with him regularly and hope to even talk to him later this week about how he can contribute with us going forward."
Wright had told SNY's Andy Martino back in September that he would like to be part of the front office next season.
"I'd love to stay involved," Wright said. "I love being around the game. I obviously love the organization. So I think I could provide value."
