Jacob deGrom competed in his third MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, but the Mets ace said this one was unique because he got to watch teammates Pete Alonso and Jeff McNeil experience it for the first time.
DeGrom joined SNY's BNNY crew before Tuesday's game to talk about a number of topics, including how the experience this year compares to others.
"Last night watching Pete compete in the Home Run Derby and winning the whole thing was a lot of fun," deGrom said. "I've really enjoyed watching him and Jeff -- it's their first one -- taking it all in and being around those guys and seeing how excited they are, it's been a blast."
DeGrom also spoke about being a father and getting to experience the All-Star Game with his kids, the spike in home runs throughout the league and goals he has for the second half of the season.
