He's early, but Mets RHP Noah Syndergaard couldn't be any happier to be back in Port St. Lucie for another spring training.
"I couldn't be more pumped to be down in Port St. Lucie right now and get things started," Syndergaard said at the Mets' facility on Wednesday. "It's just a great feeling seeing a few of my brothers around. I can't wait for the new batch to come in and meet those guys and start meshing with them."
As Syndergaard mentioned, he isn't the only Mets players getting a headstart on the new season. Players like Todd Frazier have also made the early trip to Florida to get prepared for the long grind ahead.
There will be some new faces Syndergaard and the rest of the Mets will need to get used to, including Robinson Cano, Edwin Diaz, Jed Lowrie, and more. It's these additions that has Syndergaard confident in the Mets heading into the year.
And he'll make sure to be vocal about it.
"I think we made some serious acquisitions this offseason and these guys can really play some ball," he said. "So one thing I really want to advocate coming into spring training and coming into the season is we're a damn good baseball team."
Travis d'Arnaud is also down in PSL with the team, where he indulged on working alongside new C Wilson Ramos and his excitement to finally be back on the field...
