The Polar Bear continued his torrid home run pace on Friday.
Trailing the Braves 3-0, Pete Alonso put the Mets on the board in the fourth inning with a solo home run that just cleared the fence in left field.
Alonso hit his 28th blast of the season on the same day he confirmed he would be appearing in the Home Run Derby.
The Mets then inched back within a run in the bottom of the seventh inning, as Tomas Nido poked a single to the opposite field. His RBI hit made it a 3-2 ballgame.
