Mets LHP Steven Matz hit a solo home run in the third inning of Tuesday night's game against the Phillies, marking his second homer in as many starts.

Matz became the third pitcher in Mets history to homer in back-to-back starts -- and the first since Ron Darling completed the feat in 1989. Tom Seaver also hit home runs in consecutive starts.

Matz's blast off Phillies ace Aaron Nola gave the Mets a 1-0 advantage. His home run traveled 362 feet, according to Statcast.

The 27-year-old Matz homered in his last start against Marlins' rookie Sandy Alcantara. It was the first home run of his career.

Matz is hitting .111 this season for the Mets.
