The usual suspects:SS Jordany Valdespin: 2-5, 2B, 3 K. For those keeping score at home, that's two walks against 14 strikeouts in 15 games in AAA as part of a .250/.269/.391 line.
3B Josh Satin: 2-4, R, 2 RBI. He's sitting at .331/.394/.411 in 32 games in AAA and doing so with a .421 BABIP. His extra-base hit rate has dropped in half, from 11.9% in AA to 5.8% in AAA and his walk rate has dropped from 14% to 9%. There really is a difference between AA and AAA. We're not dealing with comfortably large data sets, but I think it's important to note that Satin's power and patience indicators have dropped significantly with the move from AA to AAA.
Chris Schwinden (7-7, 3.86): 5.1 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 4 K. This could be his last start before a call up Monday, and it wasn't very good.
In 16 starts before the All-Star Break: 3.07 ERA, 93.2 IP, 73 H, 6 HR, 31 BB, 81 K, .213 Opp AVG
In 8 starts post-Break: 5.62 ERA, 41.2 IP, 51 H, 51 H, 14 BB, 42 K, 42 K, .300 Opp AVG.
