Now Commenting On:

A+: Charlotte Stone Crabs (TB) 5, @ St. Lucie Mets 2

Marcos Camarena slid into the St. Lucie starting rotation, in place of recently promoted Jacob deGrom and struggled: 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 0 K, 1 HR. Camarena actually spent most of the second half of 2012 in the rotation for Savannah after guys like deGrom, Logan Verrett, Tyler Pill and Rafael Montero had been promoted. Now, he's marking time until LHP Alex Panteliodis is ready, or RHP Michael Fulmer is ready to return from his meniscus surgery.

21-year-old 3B Aderlin Rodriguez homered for the second straight night, his second of the year. He's now hitting .167/.176/.333 with more homers (2) and doubles (2) than walks (0) in 12 games. I really, really like Rodriguez's power, but that's pretty self-explanatory, no?

C Albert Cordero, who had a lost year with Savannah in 2012 (.194/.276/.270 - 76 games) picked up his second straight two-hit game. He's a strong defensive catcher: a fine receiver with a strong arm. If he can hit at all, his defensive ability behind the plate will keep him employed up the ladder.
