Now Commenting On:

The Mets will introduce Curtis Granderson at a press conference at the Winter Meetings on Tuesday (Davidoff).  Granderson will earn $13 million in 2014, $16 million in each 2015 and 2016, and $15 million in 2017 (Heyman). He did not receive a no-trade clause.

Sandy Alderson said Sunday that the Mets still have up to four issues to address on the current roster (Brender). They are willing to trade Daniel Murphy (Martino); they prefer to keep Lucas Duda, but could trade him or Ike Davis this week (Martino); and Alderson said he doesn’t necessarily believe Eric Young Jr. is a reserve player (Brender).

The Mets are among seven or eight teams that have inquired about free agent LHP Johan Santana (Castillo).

The Mariners are likely to trade infielder Nick Franklin (Heyman); Rays LHP David Price has become Seattle’s top priority (Heyman), though the Dodgers, D-Backs and Rangers also have interest (Rosenthal); the Rays intend to find a first baseman (Topkin); the Dodgers remain interested in trading away an outfielder (Gurnick); and Matt Kemp's agent thinks he could get moved this week (Edes).
