The Mets (60-68) are off on Thursday.

They open a three-game series against the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Friday night at 10:10 p.m. ET.

Jon Niese (7-8, 3.50 ERA) will get the the start for the Mets, opposed by Dan Haren (10-10, 4.59 ERA) for the Dodgers. Haren is replacing Clayton Kershaw, who was moved up in the rotation and will not face the Mets this coming weekend.

Bartolo Colon, whose mother recently passed away, will come off the bereavement list and make the start against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Dana Eveland received a cortisone shot in his left (pitching) elbow, and will be unavailable until at least Friday.
