Travis d’Arnaud started a rehab assignment with Double-A Binghamton this past weekend. He is due to catch Tuesday and could be activated from the disabled list as soon as Wednesday.
Eric Young Jr. was put on the DL with a right hamstring injury before Monday's game. Triple-A OF Matt den Dekker replaced him on the roster.
The Mets are being extra cautious with Dillon Gee, who is on the disabled list with a muscle strain in his back. He didn't throw from a mound Sunday, as he said he intended to do a few days earlier. Sandy Alderson said Gee is likely to miss a fourth start and may be unable to return for June 5, which Gee previously indicated could be his return date.
