Mets RHP Zack Wheeler allowed three runs on seven hits in six innings against the Nationals on Tuesday night at Citi Field.
Wheeler struck out two batters and walked three in his second start since being called up from Triple-A Las Vegas earlier this month.
Bryce Harper drove in the game's first run with a sacrifice fly in the third inning and the Nationals tacked on two more in the fourth on a pair of RBI singles.
Wheeler rebounded to pitch a scoreless fifth and sixth inning and finished the night having thrown 99 pitches. He also helped himself out at the plate, going 2-for-2 and scoring a run.
Wheeler's first start came six days after he limited the Marlins to one run on two hits in seven innings in his first major league start of the season.
