Zack Wheeler will return from the disabled list to start Saturday at Citi Field against the Phillies, the Bergen Record's Matt Ehalt reported on Twitter.
Wheeler, who is on the DL with biceps tendonitis, threw a bullpen session Thursday and reported no issues to the team's training staff, according to NY Post reporter Mike Puma.
He threw 72 pitches during a bullpen session this past weekend, pitching coach Dan Warthen told Daily News reporter Kristie Ackert.
"He threw well," Warthen said. "The ball came out good."
The 27-year-old Wheeler is in his first season back from Tommy John surgery, during which he is 3-5 with a 5.29 ERA in 13 starts.
In his last two outings, he had given up 15 runs and 14 hits in 3 2/3 innings.
