Mets INF Wilmer Flores left Sunday's game against the Brewers with lower back soreness, the team announced.
He is on his way back to New York to undergo further tests.
Flores was 0-for-2 with a strikeout in Sunday game before he was replaced by Luis Guillorme. Should Flores be unavailable to play on Monday, manager Mickey Callaway said Jose Bautista could be an option at third base.
The 26-year-old Flores is hitting .248 with three home runs and 13 RBIs in 46 games for the Mets this season.
