In an article (Spanish), by Leonard Ojeda, on the Bravos website, Flores talks about his returning from injury, his defense, and his personal outlook for 2011.
Flores on returning from his injury:
"At first I was a little nervous, which I think is natural. Since returning, I have been pretty happy with the results."Flores talking about his defense:
"I still do not have full trust in my glove. They (Mets) sent me to develop defensively. They want me to work on my footwork because naturally I am slower than other shortstops. But that does not stop me from playing shortstop. I feel I am mentally more mature now."Finally, Flores talks about his 2011 in the Mets organization:
"The Mets are supposed to call me next week. I still do not have a date to report to spring training, but God willing, I will play in AA this year."Mets fans have to be very excited about the progress the 19 year old Flores has made. The sky is the limit for Flores, and I do believe at some point in 2011, he will be in AA, but I highly doubt he will break camp with Binghamton. Regardless of his future defensive position, Flores' bat will be his meal ticket. In a Fall/Winter where most Mets prospects have had little success, Flores gives us something positive to discuss this off-season.
