Mets INF Wilmer Flores was examined Thursday in New York regarding his broken nose and will not play again this season, the team announced.
Flores was still experiencing swelling as of Tuesday.
He suffered the broken nose and left the second game of this past Saturday's doubleheader after fouling a ball off his face. He walked off the field while holding a towel to his nose.
Flores hit a grand slam in the first game of the doubleheader and was 1-for-1 in the nightcap before leaving in the fourth inning.
The 26-year-old Flores hit .271 with 18 home runs and 52 RBI in 110 games for the Mets this season.
