Who is starting for the Mets?
RHP Zack Wheeler (4.71 ERA/1.27 WHIP) who is still a Met after the trade deadline yesterday. He'll look to do better than his last start where he allowed three runs on six hits (one homer) while striking out seven and walking none over 5.1 innings against the Pirates.
Who is starting for the White Sox?
RHP Dylan Cease (6.86 ERA/1.62 WHIP) who is still trying to find his way in the MLB, as he gets his fifth start of his young career. The 23-year-old has had a habit of having his one bad inning through his starts, and against the Twins last time out, it was the second. All five of his runs allowed came in that inning, so he'll look to eradicate that against the Mets on Thursday.
The Mets stay on the road to begin a three-game weekend series against the Pirates on Friday at 7:05 p.m.
