Who is starting for the Mets?
RHP Zack Wheeler (3-3, 4.85 ERA), who is facing the Nationals in his second straight start and for the fourth time this year already. The 9.77 ERA in 2019 against Washington doesn't bode well for Wheeler, and starting strong will be key for him -- the Nats tagged him for four runs in the first inning last Thursday.
Who is starting for the Nationals?
RHP Erick Fedde (0-0, 3.38 ERA), who is making his first start of the season. Fedde hasn't allowed a run in four of his five relief appearances this season. He had a 2.55 ERA across five outings -- four starts -- for Double-A Harrisburg this year.
The Mets and Nationals will continue their series with a battle of the aces Wednesday at Citi Field, as Jacob deGrom will square off against Max Scherzer at 7:10 p.m.
