Now Commenting On:

According to Zack Wheeler's official Facebook page, he will start the second game of next Tuesday's double-header against the Braves in Atlanta.

Matt Harvey is scheduled to start the first game, which is set for 1:10 pm ET.

In this scenario, Wheeler will get to hang out, be around his teammates, get a feel for the big-league pace and, most important, watch how Harvey approaches the same hitters during the day that Wheeler will likely have to face at night. The other train of thought would be to get Wheeler on the mound early, so he doesn't let nerves and anticipation get the best of him, especially when making his big-league debut in front of family and friends in his home state of Georgia. However, I'm told he doesn't have that type of temperament, he'll be fine and, if anything, he'll revel in the build up… I look forward to this.
