Powell had his best season with the Pirates in 2018, averaging 23.1 points, four rebounds, 2.9 assists and shooting 45 percent from the field. It was his leadership on the floor that led Seton Hall to an NCAA Tournament appearance.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Powell could have gone into the NBA Draft, but to get his draft stock up more, he'll return to college ball to hopefully show continued success.
As Powell notes in his tweet, he is also returning to get his degree, something no one in his family has ever accomplished.
