Sir Winston came away with the victory at the 151st running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday afternoon.
Led by jockey Joel Rosario, Sir Winston entered the race with 10-1 odds. In the final turn, Sir Winston took an inside path and weaved towards the outside to charge into the lead, eventually winning the race with an official time of 2:28.30, winning by one length.
War of Will, the winner of this year's Preakness Stakes who had the second-best odds at 7/2 , finished in ninth place.
Sir Winston trainer Mark Casse, who also served as trainer for War of Will, earned his first career Belmont Stakes victory, giving him wins in two of of the three Triple Crown races this year.
Favorite Tacitus, at 9-5, finished in second place, while Joevia, a long shot at 21-1 that led the pack for most of Saturday's race, finished in third.
