Jets camp is in full swing, and there's a buzz in the Florham Park air. There's a new head coach, a new GM, and lots of fresh faces on the field.

Which players have the potential to be unheralded X-factors for the Jets this year? Here's five guys who have stood out so far.

Jonotthan Harrison (C)

Harrison is a familiar face after starting nine games over the last two years, but there was some thought that the Jets may pursue an upgrade at center this offseason. Instead, they stuck with Harrison, and the results are paying off.

It wasn't long before new GM Joe Douglas made his first move for the Jets, as TE Neal Sterling was released on Tuesday

Sterling re-signed with the Jets this offseason on a veteran minimum contract, but he has been injured this offseason which has kept him out of team practices.

With Chris Herndon having a solid rookie season in 2018, and Trevon Wesco drafted in the fourth round back in April, the Jets had the depth to let him go. Jordan Leggett is also on the Jets' depth chart...

The team announced on Monday that they have re-signed linebacker Brandon Copeland

Copeland, 27, had a career-year with the Jets last season, recording five sacks and 14 quarterback hits in addition to 35 tackles in 16 games.

Ralph Vacchiano | Facebook | Twitter | Archive: The Jets, at 3-8, have nothing left to play for but their future over the last five weeks of the season. And with tons of pending free agents, their future could look a lot different than their present.

While they have some important core pieces in place -- quarterback Sam Darnold, safety Jamal Adams, defensive end Leonard Williams, for example -- they are still heading into an offseason that could see yet another complete overhaul of their roster. The Jets have $100 million or so in salary cap room to spend in free agency.

They also have 23 unrestricted free agents (and two restricted free agents) of their own.

Jets WR Terrelle Pyor injured his groin during practice on Thursday, head coach Todd Bowles said, adding his availability for Sunday's game against the Jaguars will depend on how he responds to treatment in the coming days.

Along with Pryor, S Marcus Maye (foot), S Doug Middleton, and CB Buster Skrine were all limited at practice, while WR Charone Peake and TE Neal Sterling (concussion) were both out.

Maye has missed the first three games of the season.

The Jets blew a 14-0 lead and lost 21-17 to the Browns on Thursday night. Let's break down how each unit performed.

Quarterbacks

Rookie Sam Darnold had his worst game so far, although he was arguably somewhat hamstrung by an overly conservative game plan. He completed 15 of 31 passes for 169 yards and threw two interceptions.

The Jets suffered a disheartening 20-12 defeat to the Dolphins in their home opener on Sunday afternoon. Let's break down how each unit performed.

Quarterbacks

While Sam Darnold passed for over 330 yards and a touchdown, the Jets missed several opportunities to get back into the game. There is cause for concern over Darnold's ability to see the field as he didn't anticipate a safety sitting on the route on his first interception and failed to see a couple of wide-open receivers that were open for potential big plays...

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - It would've been understandable if Jets fans wanted to be only cautiously optimistic that they had finally found their franchise quarterback. A decades-long search and far too many broken promises have left everyone with scars.

But the caution around Sam Darnold is probably gone now. He looked like a legitimate franchise quarterback on Friday night in his NFL debut.
