The Nets' bench scored 48 of Brooklyn's 108 points on Friday night, and Alan Anderson thinks it's just the tip of the iceberg for the second unit.

Anderson, who led the bench with 13 points (6-of-10 shooting), told Sarah Kustok the bench's goal is to be set whenever Jason Kidd calls their number, and it's that group mentality that has led to their success.

"We're so loaded that we need to be ready any given moment, because you never know when your time is," Anderson told Kustok after the game. "You never know who's going to be the leading scorer, but as long as you play with energy, it really doesn't matter as long as we win."

The bench really pushed the Nets over the finish line on Friday. Paul Pierce exploded early, but Brooklyn let the Cavs hang around for longer than they should have. Marcus Thornton's return made a huge difference -- he and Andray Blatche had 10 each -- and it showed how dangerous the Nets' depth makes them come playoff time.

Anderson had his best game in a while, and that's big. If Brooklyn keeps up this mentality -- all in for one goal -- and they can keep getting mid-to-long range shot contribution from Anderson, Thornton, and Mirza Teletovic, it gives them a dangerous collection of options to provide that spark off the bench that is so important come playoff time.

The Nets ended a 16-game losing streak at Barclays Center. They hadn't won here since Dec. 26, when Lin strained his hamstring in a victory over Charlotte.

While the Brooklyn Nets are just trying to survive an eight-game, 16-day, 8,100-mile cross-country trip, the Memphis Grizzlies are fighting for a coveted spot in the postseason in the Western Conference.

With a little more than a month to go in the regular season, the Grizzlies are in a dogfight with the Los Angeles Clippers, the Utah Jazz and the Oklahoma City Thunder for the fourth seed. After losing to Houston on Friday, it would seem a perfect time for Memphis to get back on the winning track with the Nets coming to FedExForum on Monday.

The NBA's version of the Road Warriors, Brooklyn has the worst record in the league at 10-51 and has won only once on its current road trip. The Nets have lost 18 of 19 games, but the Grizzlies are taking nothing for granted -- and rightly so.

Nets PG Jeremy Lin went through a full practice on Tuesday, and is expected to play in Brooklyn's first game after the All-Star break, on Feb. 24 in Denver, Kenny Atkinson told reporters after practice on Tuesday.

Lin, who has been dealing with multiple hamstring strains this season, has played in only 12 games, last appearing on Dec. 26 against the Hornets. Monday marked three weeks since Lin re-aggrevated the hamstring injury and Brooklyn announced he would be out three-to-five weeks.
