Bojan Bogdanovic returned to action for Croatia, just two days after sustaining a concussion in FIBA's Eurobasket tournament.
Bogdanovic started and registered 13 points (5-for-11) and six rebounds in 23 minutes in Croatia's 73-55 victory over Macedonia.
Initial reports suggested Bogdanovic would not play on Monday. (Sept. 8)
I'm not a doctor, so maybe I have absolutely no right to think this, but it's nuts to believe that Bogdanovic was allowed to play two days after a concussion. I know that playing for Croatia is important for Bojan, but this just seems like a crazy, unnecessary risk. I can't help but wonder just how long Bogdanovic would have sat out for had he suffered that same concussion in an NBA game.
Everything we've learned about head injuries over the last decade demands that they be taken seriously. There is no such thing as a "mild" concussion. I really can't believe that the Nets are happy about the handling of this. I know as a fan, I'm not.
