The Nets have now officially confirmed that Lopez and Williams will sit out tonight's game with respective ankle injuries, and Paul Pierce is also out for tonight's game with a sore groin that he apparently injured in the second half of last night's game.
As if that weren't a big enough blow, the Nets also announced that Kevin Garnett will sit out tonight's game with an ankle injury of his own, suffered after he collided with Lopez late in the fourth quarter after Lopez had fallen down injured.
With Andrei Kirilenko also still sidelined, the Nets have recalled forward Toko Shengelia from the Springfield Armor of the D-League, and Shengelia will be available for tonight's game with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Keep in mind that Joe Johnson, the lone Nets starter who escaped Phoenix without getting banged up, played a team-high 45 minutes last night, and will likely have his minutes limited tonight in what has become an ill-timed back-to-back for Brooklyn.
It looks like we'll be seeing a lot of Shaun Livingston, Alan Anderson, Mason Plumlee, Andray Blatche and Reggie Evans tonight. The strength of that Nets bench will certainly be tested tonight, to say the least. Maybe Jason Kidd should wear some basketball shorts underneath his suit tonight.
