The Least You Should Know
Four Nets players (Andray Blatche - 18, Mirza Teletovic - 14, Joe Johnson - 13, Paul Pierce - 13) scored in double figures.
The Nets got 52 points from their bench in a great all around effort to win their sixth straight at home.
The Nets outscored the Magic 27-14 in the third quarter to extend the lead to 73-56.
Andray Blatche led the Nets in scoring with 18 points, grabbing five rebounds to go with three assists and one block for Brooklyn.
Brooklyn was coming off a laugher yesterday where the embarrassed the Knicks at the Garden to win their seventh game of the new year out of eight games. Tonight was a test to make sure the Nets didn't overlook the struggling Magic at home and they passed the test.
D-Will came off the bench for the second straight game to not disrupt the recent Nets rhythm and it worked once again. The first half was pretty much played to a draw as the Nets allowed the Magic to shoot 50 percent from the field and only led by four at the break. The scorching hot Joe Johnson only had 10 points at half but Andray Blatche helped out and was "blatching" again to the tune of eight first half points.
The second half began with Paul Pierce heating up and Nets held the Magic to 3-for-21 shooting in the quarter. They outscored the Magic 25-14 to build the lead to 73-56.
Then came more blatching in the fourth along with a few Mirza Teletovic 3-pointers that sent the crowd into a frenzy and some loud "Brook-lyn" chants that made me think we were back at MSG again.
This team is rolling right now and with their best player deciding to come off the bench to not mess up chemistry - I cant help but smile from ear to ear.
Brooklyn will be back in action on Friday night when they host the Dallas Mavericks. Tip is at 7:30 PM on YES.
