Brooklyn Nets GM Sean Marks said he wants the organization and its fans to be patient with its goal of making the playoffs after finishing with the NBA's worst record this season.
"We're going to have to build this strategically, have patience with it," Marks told Newsday's Greg Logan at an end-of-season press conference on Monday, "... We're going to have a big-picture view on this looking down the road."
The Nets will swap their first-round pick this season with the Boston Celtics, who earned the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, and also traded their 2018 first-round pick to the Celtics as part of the Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce trade from 2013.
Marks, who had been a San Antonio Spurs assistant GM for two years before becoming Nets GM last February, said the team will explore all options.
