After the Nets dismantled the Heat 111-87, a game they lead by as much as 38 points, Brooklyn head coah Kenny Atkinson was proud of his team but wants that type of energy on a regular basis.
The shots won't always fall like they did against the Heat, but effort is something the team can control.
"Great job by the guys being ready," Kenny Atkinson said, via Associated Press. "Even at halftime you knew the Heat were going to come out with a lot of energy and we responded again. We didn't have a bad quarter defensively."
On Wednesday the Nets lost to the Pelicans and gave up 128 points in the process, rendering the 87 they held the Heat to a welcomed change for Atkinson.
"We weren't perfect but we were more perfect than the other night," Atkinson said, referring to Brooklyn's Wednesday loss at New Orleans. "The challenge for us is to do it more consistently. That's what we're searching for."
The Nets are next in action against the Celtics on New Year's Day at 5:30 p.m.
