Garnett has been sidelined with back spasms. Brooklyn is 3-0 in games KG has missed due to this injury.
This isn't much of a surprise. There's really no sense in risking KG's back tightening or flaring up en route. Plus, it allows him to avoid another emotional night in Beantown. The Nets play both ends of a back-to-back at home to kick off the new week -- Sunday they'll host the Kings, Monday the Raptors. Obviously, if all goes well, that Toronto game could be for first place, so the way the defense has looked the last two games, best to hold Garnett out and try to ensure he's ready for at least the latter part of that stretch.
