A road win inside the conference would be a nice boost, both in the standings and to the Nets' psychological state. They can't afford to let the Knicks creep up too far ahead of them if they're realistically going to stay in this Atlantic race. So that run everyone is waiting for. The one where the Nets magically get right and become the team everyone thought they would be. That has to start tonight in Milwaukee.
After all, the Bucks are awful. They're the only team below the Nets in the standings, and for good reason. Their 97.5 offensive rating is worst in the NBA and it has led to a -8.6 point differential. Opponents are scoring nearly 100 points per game (99.9 to be exact) against the Bucks while Milwaukee posts only 91.3. If there was ever a team for the Nets defense to get healthy, it's now.
So take it to Milwaukee, then come home for, somewhat unbelievably, a big game with the division leading Celtics, where Deron Williams will be waiting in the wings. It's time to get things going in the borough. Get it done, gentlemen.
