The Nets jumped out to a strong start, posting a 29-24 lead after one quarter, but the Pistons responded by outscoring the Nets in the second and third quarters. The Nets mounted a comeback attempt in the fourth and came within one-point in the final minute before Reggie Jackson made a pair of free throws to extend Detroit's lead.
Jarrett Allen led the Nets with 10 rebounds and was the only player on the team to make two three-pointers. He had four blocks and finished the night with 17 points, which ranked third on the team behind LeVert and Dinwiddie, who scored 23 points.
The Nets will return to action on Friday when they will host the Knicks at 7:30 p.m.
