"The latest odds out of Bovada have the Brooklyn Nets with the eight-best chance to win an NBA Title (30-1) and the Knicks in a tie for 10th (35-1) with the Memphis Grizzlies and Indiana Pacers."
Brian Lewis of the New York Post asked Rasheed Wallace for his thoughts, and he said the following:
"'I don’t care about no Vegas odds, you know why? Because when you get out there on the hardwood all the guys that are making those bets and making them odds, they ain’t out there on that hardwood, so you can’t say that.'"
This comes as a bit of a surprise to me because I think the Knicks are a more talented team. Obviously, talent has to come together on the court, but the same can be said for the Nets.
I probably could have lived with the Nets and Knicks having the same odds, but putting the Nets over the Knicks? I think I'd have to at least see Joe Johnson and Deron Williams play a few preseason games before I put my support behind that.
