The Nets selected Latvian small forward Rodions Kurucs with the No. 40 overall selection in the 2018 NBA Draft.
Kurucs has spent the last three seasons playing professionally in Spain with FC Barcelona. Kurucs, 20, originally declared for the draft last season but withdrew his name from consideration.
The 6-foot-10 forward could continue playing overseas as a draft-and-stash pick for the Nets.
Brooklyn also chose Kentucky guard Hamidou Diallo at No. 45 overall. However, that pick will reportedly be included with Timofey Mozgov in the trade to the Charlotte Hornets for Dwight Howard. The trade can't become official until July 6.
