All good things must come to an end, and certainly the Nets weren't going to run the table the rest of the calendar year. Even though it went back-and-forth all game long, the heavy workload seemed to affect the Nets, and Jason Kidd decided to pull his starters once for all after the Raptors started to pull away late.
The Nets' next game will be their third game in as many countries, as they head across the pond this week to play the Atlanta Hawks in London next Thursday.
Talking to reporters after the game, Mirza Teletovic had an easy solution for the team.
[sny-box]"We're gonna start a new streak in London. Start a new streak and that's it."[/sny-box]
The Nets' next win will be their sixth win of the month of January, after they won just five games in November and another five in December. Even with the setback in Toronto, they've played good ball this month. With a couple of days off to catch their breath, they can definitely start a new streak in London.
Even if they don't get Deron Williams back in time for the London game on Thursday, they don't play another game after that until January 20 against the Knicks. Maybe D-Will returns by then or shortly after, and they can start stringing more wins together.
Shaun Livingston has done a great job this month, both filling in for Deron and playing alongside him in the Nets small lineup. But the Nets certainly be a better team once they're back at full strength, and it'll allow Kidd to keep everybody fresh and effective.
