The Nets took Seton Hall guard Isaiah Whitehead in the second round of the NBA Draft Thursday. Brooklyn took Whitehead with the 42nd overall pick, which they obtained from Utah in exchange for the 55th overall pick and cash.
The selection and trade of draft choices was reported by Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Whitehead (6-foot-5) is from Brooklyn and played at Abraham Lincoln High.
Whitehead, who entered the draft after two years at Seton Hall, was a unanimous first-team All-Big East selection last season, averaging 18.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists 1.4 blocks and 1.2 steals as Seton Hall returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006 and won the Big East tournament for the first time since 1993.
The Jazz took North Carolina guard Marcus Paige with the 55th overall pick.
