The Nets are waiving G/F David Nwaba, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Nwaba ruptured his right Achilles tendon on Dec. 19, 2019 against the San Antonio Spurs, and underwent successful surgery the following day.
The 26-year-old averaged 5.3 points and 2.3 rebounds in 13 minutes per game off the bench for the Nets.
"We can talk about the game, but I'm concerned about David Nwaba, (he) hurt himself out there tonight," Kenny Atkinson told reporters after the game. "That's really where our thoughts are. It's tough to focus on the game right now. He's playing as well as anybody on our team, so tough blow. That's kind of where our hearts and mind are right now."
The Nets are currently 16-16 and in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
The team plans to sign G League wing Justin Anderson of the Raptors 905 to a 10-day contract, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Anderson, 26, was the No. 21 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks. In addition to the Mavs, he has played for the Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks.
