The Nets have signed G Shabazz Napier to a two-year deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Napier, 27, averaged 8.7 points and 2.0 assists in 20.7 minutes per game for the Trail Blazers last season.
The Trail Blazers chose not to offer Napier a qualifying offer, clearing the path for the Nets to sign him.
The Nets traded guard Jeremy Lin to the Atlanta Hawks in a deal involving several second-round picks and the rights to an international player who has yet to transition to the NBA, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Brooklyn will acquire Portland's 2020 second-round pick and the rights to Isaia Cordinier, a 2016 second-round pick from France, in exchange for Lin, a 2025 second-round pick and the right to swap picks in 2023.
Lin only played in 37 games in two seasons with the Nets in the past two seasons, including just one last season. His Brooklyn tenure mired by injury, he averaged 14.6 points and 5.1 assists the past two seasons.

On the same night as they traded Jeremy Lin to the Atlanta Hawks, the Nets acquired forwards Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur, and two draft picks from the Denver Nuggets, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Brooklyn will receive Denver's top-12 protected first-round pick in 2019 and an unprotected second-round pick in 2020, as the Nets take on approximately $21 million in salary for the 2018-19 season.
The Nets dealt guard Isaiah Whitehead, a 23-year-old guard who averaged 6.3 points in 16 games last season, to Denver, which will reportedly waive him upon the trade being completed, according to Wojnarowski.
Carmelo Anthony might be headed back to New York; however, not with the Knicks. According to SirusXMNBA Radio's Mitch Lawrence, the Thunder are hoping to trade Melo to the Nets for some sort of return rather than buying his contract out.
The package would include Jeremy Lin for Carmelo and a package of draft picks. The only problem with this idea is that the salaries of Lin and Anthony do not match up.
The Nets would have to add another contract to balance the astounding $27.9 million deal that Carmelo signed with the Knicks in 2012. The two contracts that could be packaged with Lin would be either SF Demarre Carroll who makes $15.4 million next year or SF Allen Crabbe who is slated to make $18.5 million. Both contracts are expiring.

The Nets have finalized a buyout of Dwight Howard's contract, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The buyout allows Howard to sign a two-year deal with the Wizards, sources told ESPN. According to Tim Bontemps of The Washington Post, Howard will not clear waivers until Monday.
Shortly after trading for the eight-time All-Star, Howard requested one, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.
The Nets hope Chinese basketball star Ding Yanyuhang will play with the team in the summer league after he practiced earlier this week.
"A lot of guys, we'll wait and see to make that determination," Nets assistant Jacque Vaughn told the New York Post's Brian Lewis. "We'll sit down as a group and come together and see what's best for all those guys."
Yanyuhang, 24, is a 6-foot-7, 200-pound small forward who won back-to-back MVPs in the Chinese Basketball Association. He averaged 26 points and 5.2 rebounds in 45 games for Shandon last season.
The Nets selected F Dzanan Musa with the No. 29 pick in the NBA Draft.
Musa, 19, is from Bosnia and Herzegovina and plays for Cedevita in Croatia. He averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game this season. He shot 54.5 percent from the field and 31.9 percent from three.
Musa is listed at 6-foot-9, 185 pounds and turned pro at 16-years-old. He is described as a gifted scorer and a "potential defensive liability" by The Ringer.
The Nets selected Latvian small forward Rodions Kurucs with the No. 40 overall selection in the 2018 NBA Draft.
Kurucs has spent the last three seasons playing professionally in Spain with FC Barcelona. Kurucs, 20, originally declared for the draft last season but withdrew his name from consideration.
The Nets and Hornets are finalizing a deal that will bring Dwight Howard to Brooklyn, with Timofey Mozgov heading to Charlotte, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The Nets will also be sending two future second-round picks and cash to Charlotte, says Wojnarowski, who notes deal will save the Nets $17 million in 2019-20, which will allow them to sign two max-salary players if they choose. Howard, 32, will make $23.8 million this season, after which he will be an unrestricted free agent.

Nets center Timofey Mozgov criticzed head coach Kenny Atkinson multiple times when talking to reporters this month.
Mozgov said Atkinson, who has coached the Nets to a 48-116 record in two years since taking over, tried talking to him about his displeasure with the Nets' losing and his lack of playing time, but said he was not pleased with the response.
"I tried to speak to Atkinson but he was not able to give me answer," Mozgov told a Russian media outlet 10 days ago, according to SB Nation. "Anyway I'm confident. Just want to play for Brooklyn or any other NBA team. ... I tried to talk to him, but I did not succeed in drawing out something intelligible."
The United States Supreme Court struck down a 25-year old law on Monday that had basically prevented all states except Nevada from having legalized sports gambling. "The legalization of sports gambling requires an important policy choice, but the choice is not ours to make," the Supreme Court announced. "Congress can regulate sports gambling directly, but if it elects not to do so, each State is free to act on its own."
The ruling was an enormous immediate victory for the state of New Jersey, which could have a gambling venue open in Monmouth Park within a few weeks, according to the NY Post. There will be a press conference in Monmouth Park Monday at 1 p.m. Aside from New Jersey, The Post notes that New York and Illinois are among roughly 15 other states who have "introduced bills to legalize and regulate sports betting tied to the Supreme Court outcome."
The NBA and MLB have been preparing for Monday's potential outcome, reports Brian Windhorst of ESPN, who said each league had hired lobbying firms, submitted written statements, and sent executives to testify in statehouses. Windhorts added that every professional sports league had been involved, with the NBA and MLB at the forefront...

Kidd went into coaching after retiring, becoming the head coach of the Nets in 2013. After spending one season there and leading the Nets to a playoff series victory, he transitioned to Milwaukee as the Bucks head coach. However, he was fired midway this season after the team posted a 23-22 record.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Golden State Warriors will seek a 50th win for the fifth consecutive season Tuesday night when they open a two-game homestand against the Brooklyn Nets.
Yet another hard-fought comeback crumbled before the eyes of the Nets in their 123-120 road loss to the Clippers Sunday night.
Down virtually the entire game, the Nets battled back from a 15-point deficit at one point to take a commanding 118-110 lead with about two-and-a-half minutes to play. That was all for nothing, though, as the Clippers rallied for a 13-2 run to finish the game, and send the Nets packing without a win.
"Yeah, very discouraging. We couldn't make the plays to put it away," Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson told The Post's Brian Lewis after the loss. "The hardest thing in professional sports is to close out a game. That's where we're at right now with our ability to close it out. We're not there yet. We've been in a lot of games like this. We have to do a better job."
