Tom Coughlin was on the air with Mike Francesa this afternoon on WFAN. He told Mike he had no real answer to why his teams keep floundering in the second half of seasons. Coughlin also said the team was greatly affected by recent superstorm that hit the tri-state area:

?Everyone has been affected. And our players have, because, remember, they have families, they have wives, they have children. They went through the same things that we all went through."

Is it me, or is there more Rolle than Rock on the radio these days?

Last week, Giants safety Antrel Rolle did a lot talking out of school on WFAN. After the ripples he caused at TIMEX with his comments last week on Joe and Evan's show, you'd think he take a break from the radio for awhile......think again.

Rolle was on the air again with the guys this morning....this time he held his tongue

Justin Tuck is a captain this season. ?It was kind of thrust upon him, he didn't raise his hand and volunteer for it.

He is just now beginning to realize that the captain's job is to explain away all the stupidity, foolishness and ineptitude after losses.

Yesterday, he stood in front of the beat pool and did a great job defending the defensible and singling out where his team needs to improve.

The Giants were out on the field today but much of the focus was inside the locker room.

The on-field news was all about who was practicing and who was not. LB Phillip Dillard (hamstring) was once again not practicing. Neither were S Michael Johnson (back) and C Shaun O'Hara (Achilles).

TE Kevin Boss (concussion) was back in action as he said he would be. Coach Tom Coughlin reiterated that Boss would be going full tilt. CB Aaron Ross (heel) also participated in full. LB Chase Blackburn (knee) was limited, doing individual drills.

TE Kevin Boss said yesterday that he was ready to begin practicing perhaps as early as Wednesday. ?He was knocked out of the opening game vs Carolina with a concussion - reportedly his third in two years - by a late hit from the Panthers' Sherrod Martin.

?I think with the new rules the N.F.L. is trying to put in place, you could look at it as kind of an unnecessary shot,? Boss said.

Coach Tom Coughlin was also not pleased with the fact the officials failed to call a penalty on Martin, who was subsequently fine $5K by the league.

Giants' rookie punter Matt Dodge was feeling the heat after his sub par debut Week 1 against the Panthers.

Sunday night, he bounced back with a steadier performance, averaging 45.2 yards on six attempts. Among those six punts was a 62-yard punt and one that pinned the Colts back at their own 2-yard line.

RB Brandon Jacobs had a fine game spelling starter Ahmad Bradshaw.? He had 44 yards on 12 carries and gained 21 more on two receptions.

"I had a chance to get in and get some carries, and had a chance to make some blocks in the pass protection. I thought it was fine. It's just low key for me."

The Giants will hit the field again this morning at Timex.? Yesterday, they nearly had a full squad for practice for the first time in recent memory.

Everyone was on the field with the exception of LB Phillip Dillard (hamstring) and S Michael Johnson (personal). CB Aaron Ross (heel), LB Gerris Wilkinson (groin) and C Shaun O?Hara (ankle) are all still being monitored and were limited.

Tom Coughlin seemed more upbeat than usual. A healthier team, perhaps, has given him more confidence. He had positive things to day about several players, most notably the injured who are all getting closer to participating in full.
