The Giants finally held on to a lead in the fourth quarter and actually won a football game. The collective feeling as the clock wound down was one of uneasiness. "We won, so smile," head coach Tom Coughlin said after the Giants' 32-21 win over the Washington Redskins. "It wasn?t easy. Nobody said it was going to be."

Washington has been one of the NFL's biggest surprises early on this season, but the formula that has allowed the team to go 1-1 should not come as a shock to anyone.

Washington has built a team with stout defensive play and a ball-control offense. Kirk Cousins has operated the offense, which leans on a 1-2 rushing tandem of Alfred Morris and rookie Matt Jones, and has made the team much more formidable this season.
