The Jets took a little excursion tonight in Buffalo before the team's game against the Bills at 1PM tomorrow. ?Per Brian Costello of the New York Post, coach Rex Ryan pulled a Frank Reynolds and took out his guys for steaks and skeeball at the Buffalo Dave & Buster's.

According to a source, Rex Ryan canceled the team?s normal pregame offensive and defensive meetings and the team went to ?Dave & Buster?s,? the chain arcade/restaurant a few miles from the team?s hotel.

It is highly unusual for a team to skip their preparation the night before a game and could be perceived as a lack of respect for the Bills. Ryan still conducted the full team meeting where he gives his motivational talk, but the team skipped its final game-planning sessions.

The New York Post is reporting that the New Jersey Devils are looking to acquire Edmonton Oilers' center Sam Gagner. The Devils are lacking depth at the center position with the injuries to Travis Zajac and Jacob Josefson. Sam Gagner was drafted 6th overall in the 2007 NHL Draft. Over 4 seasons Gagner has played in 291 games with 173 points (59 G, 114 A). So far in the 2011-2012 campaign he has 1 assist in 5 games. If the Devils are going to make a move one could suspect that the Devils are going to have to give up some high draft picks and an up and coming prospect. Definitely give this article a read.

Ask any Jet fan what it is like to be a Jet fan. They will probably utter the something to effect of "Oh, the pain!" as Joe Beningo of Daily News Live does several time a year. The fact that the Jets have not lived up to the hype thus far this season is nothing new around these parts. It's been happening for over four decades. They are even at odds with the kingly Joe Namath these days.

The Giants have ignored the public's criticism and gone on about their business. That's what they've always done. Sure, they disappoint their fans on occasion, but not like this Jet team is poised to do in 2011....

The team that many thought would steal TE Kevin Boss away from the Giants - the Oakland Raiders - is way over the salary cap at the moment and would have to get creative in order to fit him in.

The Jets' recent success has taken a bite into the Giants' hold over the NY football populace, but they are still a ways away from reaching the core.

The fence-sitters have jumped over to the Jets side for the time being which has drawn the two teams closer in popularity, but the Giants still have the upper hand.

The proof is in the ticket-sales pudding. The Giants attached PSLs to every seat they sold. The Jets only required PSL agreements of their high-end and lower level ticket holders.

Add Kevin Boss to the list of Giants players who required surgery after this past season.

The Giants' tight end yesterday underwent a minor arthroscopic procedure to repair an issue with his hip that was lingering during the season.

According to our colleague Paul Schwartz of The Post..............
Winners of four straight, the Giants vaulted themselves into being the smart-money choice to represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLV, where Las Vegas says they?ll meet up with none other than the Jets in the first-ever Subway Super Bowl.

Imagine how that would play down in Texas for the Feb. 6 game at Cowboys Stadium.

Yes indeed, Las Vegas has established the Jets and Giants as the favorites to meet in the Super Bowl. Jay Kornegay, executive director of Las Vegas Hilton Sports Book, yesterday posted each team as 5-2 favorites to win their respective conference championships. The Jets are 5-1 favorites to win the Super Bowl, best in the AFC, and the Giants are 7-1 to win the Super Bowl, best in the NFC.
