New York City FC has traded forward Patrick Mullins to D.C. United, the team announced.
NYCFC will recieve allocation money and an international roster spot in return.
"On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to sincerely thank Patrick Mullins for his contribution to the building of New York City FC," NYCFC director of football operations Claudio Reyna said. "Patrick gave his all on the field and in the community, and scored a goal in our historic first ever match at Yankee Stadium that will always be remembered. We wish him the best of luck in the next step of his career."
Mullins had one assist in seven games (two starts) this season for New York. Last season, he scored six goals and had four assists in 24 games for NYCFC.
He was the fourth selection in the 2014 MLS Expansion Draft from New England Revolution. He was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft.
